Copyright, 1941, by News Syndicate Co, "I'm throwing that stack of stuff out. Can't you get your mind off style long enough to clean house?" NLRB Hears Plea Of C.I.O. Union for Lead Co. Designation A on the plea of Local No. District No.

50 of the hearing, C. I. O. United Mine Workers' Union that the National Labor Relations Board certify it as collective bargaining agent for the 780 employes of the titanium division of the National Lead Co. is being held today in the Federal Building.

Employes of the titanium division plant, River des Peres and the Mississippi River, 2have been on strike since August Three A. F. L. unions--the International Association of Machinists, Electrical Workers' Local No. 1 and Steam and Gas Fitters' Local No.

2 -have entered pleas before the labor board that they should be certified to represent machinists, electricians and steam fitters respectively. The National Lead Co. contended when the strike was called that all employes in the titanium plant should be in one bargaining unit. The C. I.

O. union claims to represent a majority of all titanium division workers and asks that the A. F. L. locals be excluded from the plant.

The C. I. O. union today also asked that the labor board certify it as representative of the De Lore division of the National Lead Co. The De Lore division plant on the same grounds as the titanium plant has been shut down since the strike was called.

The C. I. O. union filed forty -two cards signed by De Lore plant workers in which the workers designated the C. I.

O. union as their representative and 700 similar cards signed by titanium division workers. FUNERAL TOMORROW FOR FATHER G. F. HEFFERNAN The Rev.
